7. How the Case was Cracked
Back at the World Trade Center, the passport of hijacker Muhammed Atta miraculously escaped the raging inferno which had melted the steel in the towers and was found intact on the street nearby. This helped the FBI to figure out who the culprits were. Also, the silly hijackers left their rented car (with a Koran and a Flight Manual in it) at the airport parking lot.
Even though all the hijackers were killed, Osama and his evil organisation, Al Qaeda, lived on. In a video tape released in December 2001 Osama made some admissiions:
Shaykh: Hundreds of people used to doubt you and few only would follow you until this huge event happened. Now hundreds of people are coming out to join you. I remember a vision by Shaykh Salih Al-((Shuaybi)). He said: 'There will be a great hit and people will go out by hundreds to Afghanistan.' I asked him (Salih): 'To Afghanistan?' He replied, 'Yes.' According to him, the only ones who stay behind will be the mentally impotent and the liars (hypocrites). I remembered his saying that hundreds of people will go out to Afghanistan. He had this vision a year ago. This event discriminated between the different types of followers.
OSAMA: (...Inaudible...) we calculated in advance the number of casualties from the enemy, who would be killed based on the position of the tower. We calculated that the floors that would be hit would be three or four floors. I was the most optimistic of them all. (...Inaudible...) due to my experience in this field, I was thinking that the fire from the gas in the plane would melt the iron structure of the building and collapse the area where the plane hit and all the floors above it only. This is all that we had hoped for.

In October 2004, just four days before the U.S. Presidential Election, Osama released another tape, aired on Network television, in which he specifically admits his role in 9/11 and warns of new 'disasters':
Bin Laden said he thought of the method of attacking U.S. skyscrapers when he saw Israeli aircraft bombing tower blocks in Lebanon in 1982.
'We decided to destroy towers in America,' he said. 'God knows that it had not occurred to our mind to attack the towers, but after our patience ran out and we saw the injustice and inflexibility of the American-Israeli alliance toward our people in Palestine and Lebanon, this came to my mind.'
Although there was no way to authenticate the tape or say when it was made, it referenced the upcoming presidential election.
'Your security is not in the hands of (Democratic candidate John) Kerry or Bush or al-Qaida. Your security is in your own hands,' bin Laden said, according to the Associated Press.
'To the U.S. people, my talk is to you about the best way to avoid another disaster. I tell you: Security is an important element of human life and free people do not give up their security.'
'If Bush says we hate freedom, let him tell us why we didn't attack Sweden, for example. It is known that those who hate freedom do not have dignified souls, like those of the 19 blessed ones,' he said, referring to the 19 hijackers.

Clearly, Osama timed his release of the 2004 tape to coincide with the elections. Clearly the tape reinforced in Americans the necessity of Bush's War on Terror. Clearly, this assisted the Bush election campaign.
Why would Osama help George W. Bush to win an election?
